Sakura Avenue

From season 2022, you can experience a new Sakura Avenue in the Castle Park.

40 Sakura trees will form a beautiful avenue located in the northern part of the castle park.

The Japanese cherry trees are of the same variety as the avenue leading to Gavnø Castle but differ from the pink color by having beautiful flowers in delicate white shades.

FACTBOX

Sakura means cherry blossom and is the name of the flowers, that adorn the tree when it blooms in spring.

The flowers of the Sakura tree are Japan’s national flower and a symbol of renewal and hope.

The leaves on the flowers are edible. In Japan, for example, they are used in small desserts and in tea.
