The Romantic Rose Garden
At the northern end of the Castle Park lies the romantic rose garden.
The garden consists of individual garden spaces and larger round rose bushes. The rose garden offers many wonderful types of roses, including both classic, new and historic varieties that bloom well into the fall.
The fragrant garden
In the romantic rose garden you can from July until the month of October enjoy a variety of different oses, including a labyrinth built entirely of rose bushes.
Benches are set up for your comfort when enjoing the silence and the fragrances.

Gavnø’s castle gardeners recommend placing roses in a sunny, open location in a humectant, nutritious soil.
Roses should be fertilized twice a year (March and May), if they are single-flowering and four times a year (March, April, May and June), if they are remounting.
Prune roses in the late winter / early spring (March). Cover the roses with fallen foliage and greens when the winter is at its peak.
